Unarmed Guard License Training

Before gaining employment as a security guard, the State of Utah requires that you complete a certified 8 hour training course, receive a background check, and submit an application to DOPL (Division of Public Licensing). Continuing Education Course (32 Hours)

Part of the DOPL's requirements for maintaining an armed or unarmed license is to complete continuing education hours. These hours are to be turned in to show that each guard is continually participating in new trainings to improve and sharpen their skills. Monthly SFO Training
This is not a mandatory training, but it will be offered monthly to obtain free training hours. All SFOs will be able to obtain upwards from
2-4 hours at each class. This training is usually held in Utah County or via Zoom in many instances.
